the standard DOWNTOWN LA

the standard DOWNTOWN LA 002016011the standard la ds 0

Upon seeing the elegant former headquarters of the Superior Oil Co. in 2000, André Balazs fell in love and bought it virtually on the spot. By May 2002 the Carrara-marble-clad construction had become his second Standard hotel, this time in the heart of downtown LA. The Business Traveller calls it: “A visual treat from the moment you step inside.” But this 12-storey hotel and its 207 guestrooms far surpass the established corporate hotel paradigm: The grand lobby is partially a historic architectural landmark with 50’s era ornaments such as a 15 time zone clock encased in stainless steel.
