Where the steep Pacific Ocean bluffs offer a panoramic view of the Cavalli Islands, in the northwest corner of New Zealand sits a luxurious spa away from the rest of the world to clear out your mind called the Kauri Cliffs.
“We want to create a true escape for people. Our priority is to customize treatments to specific needs while using indigenous ingredients,” says spa manager Kim Hannan. “The whole design and concept is with nature and bringing the outdoors indoors—so when the weather is good we can perform all the treatments outside, which is quite unique.”
Each spa room opens onto a heated patio that’s overlooking the rich forest surrounding the facility. Some of the rooms are designed for couple’s treatments that include side-by-side tables, a hot tub, a fireplace, and an indoor/outdoor shower.
