Sabina Kober is one of the best Interior designers and stylists from Germany. She has studied Harp, church music and conductorship at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich. Now with a long professional career as Interior Designer, she finds her inspiration to create rooms in the harmony and aesthetics she finds in the music!
In 1986, she and her longtime partner interior designer Norbert E. Kern, founded the KERN-DESIGN, the studio for holistic interior design, in Frankfurt am Main.
Together they realized KERN space-Visions for the private and commercial sectors such as hotels, restaurants, shops, wellness and offices. Whether classic or avant-garde design culture, KERN DESIGN brings functionality with style and harmony in an overall concept.
Norbert E. Kern is an Interior Architect and Light design specialist with many years of experience! “During this time my work has been decorated with the much sought after Interior Innovation Award multiple times as well as various other prizes. The foundation of this success has on many occasion been my spacial conceptions on basis of the limbic system and my passion for light design. Currently I am inspired by the possibilities of combining traditional craftsmanship with modern interior design with the help of new, digital technologies such as Apps and Connected Home. Beside my personal interest in innovation concerning my field of work, I also stay up-to-date with advanced training of the AKH (The Hesse Chamber of Architects and Urban Planners) and the BDIA (The Association of German Architects) and exchange knowledge with my Colleges through these platforms.” Says Norbert about his own work.

«According to Schopenhauer music and architecture are closely related, he said “Architecture is frozen music”. This is why my musical studies of the Harp, church music and my conductorship at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich are perhaps the best basis for my current profession as interior designer. In music harmony and aesthetics and the interplay of different elements are also essential. Today, many years after my studies, and with many more years of experience as designer, textile designer and co-founder of KERN-DESIGN I look forward to composing the best Interiors and giving them a soul of their own. I always try to find out exactly what our customers need by using empathy and then help them develop the idea a few steps further.»
