Till recently I got in touch with Great Wine Capitals and it’s propose. It is a network of major global cities within northern and southern hemisphere to promote what the best of wining and Wine Tourism is produced in these regions.
Bilbao (Rioja), Bordeaux, Cape Town and Cape Winelands, Christchurch (South Island), Firenze, Mainz (Rheinhessen), Mendoza, Porto, San Francisco (Napa Vally) and Valparìso (Casablanca Valley) are the ten best of the best wine regions of the world that share an economic and cultural heritage that’s the key for their international renowned.
I kept thinking these last days about why wine tourism is so important for people. People want to see how wine is produced, if possible to talk the lead winemaker, and for what its worth they want to have a wine experience that involve being in the field.
Every year Great Wine Capitals organizes international competitions to award members of its wine region in fields like Accommodation, Wine Tourism Restaurants, Sustainable Wine Tourism Practices, Architecture & Landscapes, Art & Culture, Innovative Wine Tourism Experiences and Wine Tourism Services.
