Till last century Homosexuality had been a huge society taboo. But then the 60s came with its sex, drugs and rock and roll… the homosexuality taboo diminished, but homophobia was still a huge trouble in our society. Although in the late years well-known celebrity faces came out of the closet and talked about gay rights and their own sexual orientation.
Gay Pride or LGBT Pride is a concept in which gays, lesbian, bisexuals and transgenders should be proud of its sexual orientation and gender identity. The word Pride have started to use as an antonym to the word shame, that had been used across the history to control and oppress LGBT individuals. After Stonewall Rebellion, moment occurred in 1969 in New York City, where homosexuals in local pubs and bars were persecuted by the police enforcement. After facing that unconstitutional raids, the violent situations empowered the community with a sense of pride. From that moment of, a bit worldwide, and celebrating the rebellion, has born a popular spontaneously movement that celebrate LGBT rights.
